Below you can find the change log and downloads for the latest version of 2.6.18 kernel.

Changes

Update up to 028stab056.1 of the RHEL5 branch, which includes:

• improved CFQ scheduler (single reader case and hopefully the performance)
• CPT migration from 2.6.9 fixes
• IPv6 numerous races wrt device un-registration
• TCP accounting stuck near the limit (git high load case)
• binfms_misc virtualization
• other fixes

Same as 028stab053.14, plus:

• Changed:
  • CONFIG_INET6_XFRM_MODE_TRANSPORT=m (was y)

  • -CONFIG_UBC_DEBUG (was y)
  • -CONFIG_UBC_DEBUG_KMEM (was y)

RPMS

You need only one kernel RPM so please choose the appropriate one depending on your hardware:

• If your x86 (i686, IA32) machine has more than 4 GB of RAM, choose kernel-enterprise RPM.
• If your x86 (i686, IA32) or x86_64 (AMD64, EM64T) machine has more than one CPU (or a CPU with hyperthreading), choose kernel-smp RPM.
• Otherwise, use the plain kernel RPM (i.e. kernel).

SPARC
