Introduction
A good way for beginners and a fast way to install OpenVZ to a new server is the Proxmox VE bare-metal ISO installer. Currently it´s beta software using a development OpenVZ kernel (2.6.24).
Features
Proxmox VE installs the complete operating system and management tools in 3 to 5 minutes (depends on the used hardware).
"Bare-metal" means that you start from a empty server - there is no need to install a base operation system.
Including the following:
- Complete operating system (Debian Etch 64)
- Partition the hard drive with LVM2, optimized for vzdump
- Backup/Restore tools
- Proxmox VE Kernel with OpenVZ and KVM support
- Web based management interface
- Integrated virtual appliance download
- Configuration Cluster
Please note, the complete server is used and all existing data is removed.
License and Download
Proxmox VE is licensed under GPLv2 (Open source).
