This document briefly describes the steps needed to install Virtuozzo Linux distribution 7 on your machine.Take a look on [[Quick installation of legacy OpenVZ]] if you want to install current (stable) version of OpenVZ.

There are a few ways to install == Using Virtuozzo:in the Vagrant box ==

: OpenVZ project builds its own Linux distribution with both hypervisor * Download and container virtualization.It is based on [https://wwwdocs.cloudlinuxvagrantup.com/ CloudLinuxv2/installation/ install Vagrant] distribution, with the additions of * Download and install [[Downloadhttps://www.virtualbox.org/kernelwiki/rhel7-testing|our custom kernel]Downloads Virtualbox], OpenVZ management utilitiesParallels Desktop, [[QEMU]] and Virtuozzo installerVMware Fusion or VMware Workstation. It is highly recommended Please note that you need to enable nested virtualization support in your hypervisor to use OpenVZ containers and run virtual machines with this on Virtuozzo installation image7. === Setup on pre $ vagrant init OpenVZ/Virtuozzo-installed Linux distribution ===7.0

* Run box: Alternatively, one can install OpenVZ on a pre-installed RPM based Linux distribution.Supported Linux distributions: Cloud Linux 7.*, CentOS 7.*, Scientific Linux 7.* etc

Follow step $ vagrant up -by-step instruction below:provider virtualbox

Package ''virtuozzo-release'' will bring meta information and Yum repositoriesin case of VMware hypervisor:

yum localinstall http://download.openvz.org/virtuozzo/releases/7.0/x86_64/os/Packages/v/virtuozzo $ vagrant up -release-7.0.0-10.vz7.x86_64.rpmprovider vmware_desktop

Then install mandatory Virtuozzo RPM packagesand in case of Parallels hypervisor:

yum install $ vagrant up -y prlctl prl-disp-service vzkernelprovider parallels

* Some required changes may be absent in Linux kernel on your machine. Our [[Virtuozzo]] distribution based on Cloud Linux and we strongly recommend to use it if you don't want to install == Using Virtuozzo Linux distribution for some reasons. Cloud Linux kernel contains some important changes absent in another kernels (even RHEL kernels).* It is required to create a separate partition and mount it to /vz.the Amazon EC2 ==
