[http://www.funtoo.org Funtoo Linux] uses OpenVZ for its entire compute infrastructure, and Gentoo and Funtoo creator Daniel Robbins is a long-term fan of OpenVZ. Funtoo Linux currently has two OpenVZ-related initiatives -- one is the [http://www.funtoo.org/Funtoo_Compute_Initiative Funtoo Compute Initiative], which is a fully maintained, open and documented from-bare-metal deployment of OpenVZ using Funtoo Linux, based on Funtoo's own internal infrastructure. The second is [http://www.funtoo.org/Funtoo_Containers Funtoo Containers], where OpenVZ is used to empower the Funtoo community to do cool things with Funtoo Linux.

Regarding OpenVZ, Daniel Robbins says:

<blockquote>
''OpenVZ has always delivered on the promise of true production-ready container technology. The OpenVZ team has wisely focused its efforts on delivering a true solution that can be relied upon for internal clouds, high performance computing, hosting, and empowering developers to do cool things. I use OpenVZ because it works, and works well, and the OpenVZ team continues to improve the technology in smart ways.''

Our company has been using OpenVZ to provide services for customers for nearly 9 years. We are very pleased with it, as it enables us to provide maximum computing capabilities to our customers with almost no overhead. Compared with other solutions, OpenVZ has a number of competitive advantages, including the ploop file system and live migration of containers. We are truly grateful to the OpenVZ team for continuous support and wish the project further success! -- ''Pavel Odintsov, CTO, FastVPS Eesti OU'' * Moscow Virtualization Meetup, Moscow - "[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yu6Wih_znSM Использование контейнеризации в среде массового хостинга]" == MontanaLinux == [[Image:Montana State University Logo.svg|right|255px]] [http://www.montanalinux.org/ MontanaLinux.org] is a hub for Montana area Linux User Groups and has been using OpenVZ since 2005. MontanaLinux.org is primarily maintained by Scott Dowdle and a handful of other Montana area LUG members.
We are truly grateful to Scott's day job is Systems Administrator for the [http://www.cs.montana.edu/ Computer Science Department] at Montana State University Bozeman in Bozeman, Montana. The CS Dept. has been using OpenVZ team for continuous support and wish a handful of infrastructure servers for close to 10 years. Especially appreciated is the project further success!SAN-less live migration feature.
''Pavel Odintsov, CTO, FastVPS Eesti OU''OpenVZ is also used in the CSCI 351 Systems Administration class where every student is given an OpenVZ container to manage and do their assignments in. Giving each student a system they can be "root" of provides them with valuable hands-on experience. OpenVZ works very well in educational environments.
