14-15 February, 2007	LinuxWorld Open Solutions Summit	New York, NY, USA	The Summit highlights examples of existing successful Linux and open source-based projects and features presentations by leading IT executives who will address the key considerations in their deployment, what worked and especially what did not. Multiple tracks give attendees the full spectrum of best practices across key topic areas including security, enterprise applications, the data center, and emerging trends like virtualization, high performance computing and grid. This Summit is the only event on the East Coast for the Linux and open source community that brings together industry leaders shaping the future of new enterprise technology with business and technical leaders deploying Linux and open source solutions. Kir Kolyshkin presented a talk titled "Linux Virtualization Technology Alternatives". It gives a short overview of three main virtualization technologies -- namely emulation, paravirtualization and OS virtualization, outlining their pros and cons. 15–18 April, 2007	Gelato ICE	San Jose, California, USA	Gelato ICE: Itanium® Conference & Expo is the world's only conference dedicated to Linux® on the Intel® Itanium® processor. The event addresses current issues and collaborative solutions specific to the platform. Kir Kolyshkin presented an overview of OpenVZ technology and how it relates to Itanium. 27–29 April, 2007	Linuxfest Northwest 2007	Bellingham, WA, USA	A local event organised by a few LUGs. OpenVZ was presented by John Blanford.	Event website openvz.org announce
27–30 June, 2007	Linux Symposium 2007	Ottawa, ON, Canada	The Linux Symposium is a technology conference, targeting software developers working on the Linux kernel, OS infrastructure, security, networking, and any related research projects. With attendees coming from over 30 different countries, the Symposium is the single most comprehensive collection of Linux experts. 10–14 July, 2007	Rencontres Mondiales du Logiciel Libre (Libre Software Meeting)	Amiens, France	General free software event, comprising of expo and a few sessions dedicated to different topics. Kir Kolyshkin presented an overview of OpenVZ and took part in the virtualization round-table together with Kerlabs and IBM developers.	Event website Kir's talk
6–9 August, 2007	LinuxWorld Conference and Expo	San Francisco, CA, USA	LinuxWorld is the premier event for the Linux and open source community, bringing together industry leaders shaping the future of new enterprise technology in the largest single gathering of business and technical leaders deploying Linux and open source solutions. OpenVZ had an exhibit space in the dot-org pavilion. We were showing and demoing OpenVZ server virtualization, answering questions, distributing live DVDs and so on. 2–5 September, 2007	LinuxConf Europe	Cambridge, UK	LinuxConf Europe is a new technical conference, incorporating the best elements from the UK Unix User Group's Linux Developers' Conferences (2006) and the German Unix User Group's Linux-Kongress (2006). This will be followed by the Linux Kernel Summit. Kirill Kolyshkin and Pavel Emelyanov presented talks about OpenVZ and its resource management.	Event website openvz.org announce
4–6 September, 2007	Linux Kernel Developers Summit	Cambridge, UK	Linux Kernel Developers Summit brings together the core of the Kernel development team to plan the next phase of Linux Kernel development. Like past Summits, this developer-to-developer, two-day event delivers substantive technical sessions and workshops where developers and industry leaders can readily share and exchange ideas. A containers micro-summit, plus a session dedicated to containers and the plans for adoption of the containers technology to the Linux Kernel.	event website openvz.org announce
